The Quinnipiac River Canoe Trail Launch

SUNDAY, JUNE 3, 2018

The US Fish & Wildlife Service used funds from a superfund site to remove two 100 year old dams on the upper Quinnipiac River, therefore allowing migratory fish the ability to migrate from Long Island Sound, past Riverbound Farm Sanctuary, to spawn upriver.   Together with Quinnipiac River Watershed Association, Cheshire Land Trust, Southington Land Conservation Trust, DEEP, Trout Unlimited, Lyman Hall High School, Town of Cheshire and the Town of Southington we have also updated the Quinnipiac River Canoe Trail.  The canoe launches on 322 and Quinnipiac Park in Cheshire have been redesigned, and the DEEP will put out a new brochure noting important areas along the trail.  Join us at the Quinnipiac River Watershed Association on Oregon Road, Meriden to help celebrate this exciting event on Sunday, June 3rd at 9 am.  We will paddle at 1 pm.  For more information go to Quinnipiac River Trail
